LIFESTYLE

THE TRUTH ABOUT SOLO FEMALE TRAVEL

The idea of travelling solo across the world to a place you’ve never been, where you don't speak the language, no the culture, or know one living soul can quite frankly be really really scary! Of course, it's easy to think about every possible worst-case scenario!

"What if I'm abducted like in taken!!"

"What if I'm robbed!!.........

HOTEL REVIEW

HOTEL REVIEW - ALILA MANGGIS

Bali is beautiful, but let's face it one of the most visited islands in south-east Asia, so its, of course, going to be packed with tourists! Why not venture out of Seminyak, or Uluwatu to the more unknown areas?? I had the luxury of being invited over to the Alila in Manggis.

Manggis is a quiet area located in the east of Bali, not far from Padang Bai (ferry dock). The surrounding area is mainly small villages and a handful of restaurants. We found most people in the area spent most of their time within their resorts, with the Alila being one of the nicest in the area!

DESTINATION GUIDE

GUIDE TO CANGGU, BALI

Canggu is where I’m normally based when I come to Bali, it’s great for networking, making friends if you plan to stay in Bali a while, working etc. It’s where most ex-pats/nomads live while in Bali.

That being said I wouldn't say its the ultimate holiday destination, I'd only advise staying in Canggu if you plan on sticking around awhile! I say this because Canggu has less attractions and is a bit more of a community of locals and ex-pats living together.
